3 more weeks to go!
3 more weeks until we get married!! we are in the home stretch of wedding planning, and I gotta say I can't wait til its over! ;) its just been a process... But things are falling into place very well. It's all good. I'm just ready for these next 18 days to pass by so that the friday of our wedding weekend gets here! And then I want it to go by very slowly so we can thoroughly enjoy it. :)

Receptions decisions
Champagne & Cake VS. Cocktails
We have been thinking about what kind of reception to have. And of course we (just like mostly everyone gettin hitched) are on a budget; so it can't be something that is going to break the bank. We are thinking that we want to do something a little different from a formal sit-down type of dinner. Our best options seem to be either a cocktail reception or a champagne & cake reception. Another plus, i think, of having something like this is that it'd allow everyone to mingle more rather than be confined to the table they've been assigned to. Obviously we'd have some tables and chairs for people to sit - but at their leisure. :) The problem is though, at what time of the day is best for either one??? Champagne and cake is probably best for after dinner time and not in the afternoon, so perhaps a 7pm ceremony and then reception begins at 7:30pm? Or is that better for cocktails? This has me confused! Anyone have any opinions or thoughts? If so, please share :)
p.s.) Not sure if this detail will make a difference but it'd probably be a reception of 75-100 people.

Happy Halloween!
October Autumn.
Love this month of candy and
Witches in Salem.
Happy Halloween!!
Just a little haiku and entry to state my love for the awesome month of October: scarves, boots, running in leaves, pumpkins, candy corn, cinnamon, Halloween, drinking hot chocolate, Shipyard pumpkin beer, Vampire wine, colorful leaves, costumes, cemeteries, Salem, and when Shawn & I first smooched :)

Real love amounts to...
I guess I am on a quote kick lately. I just now came across another one that I really like. But it is actually one I have always really liked since I was a teenager; but have actually long forgotten about it! - until now. Wow, I ♥ the internet and how it lets you come across random things like this!
I find this to be so true in good friendships & great loves. Makes me remember how much I love Shawn, Jenn, Vicky, and so many other people! My being a hardcore Doors fan obviously makes me like the quote even more.. ;)

"Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he/she really is." -- Jim Morrison

Having both.
"I think love can come fairly easily and grow - but really liking the core essence of someone is a much harder thing to bottle. If you have both, you're in pretty good shape." -- actor Eric Bana, on being happily married.
I came across the above quote in today's edition of The Miami Herald; and it struck a chord with me. It reminds me of what people have told me over the years regarding love and relationships; and what I now know to be true. Its that your significant other should also be one of your best friends. There are all kinds of situations. Whether yours is friends first, then lovers second; or starting out as romantic and friendship forming later, one thing is true for all: you need to truly LIKE the person and who they are. I am a lucky woman to have both with Shawn.
(And thanks Eric Bana, for putting it so nicely!)
